Dr.Afam Okoye holds a Bachelors degree in Microbiology from University of Nigeria and a Master in Biotechnology from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow studying papillomavirus capsid proteins under the mentorship of Prof. Saveria Campo. He subsequently moved to the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute (VGTI) at Oregon Health and Science University in 2004 first as a Postdoctoral fellow and then as a Staff Scientist. Afam joined the faculty of the VGTI in 2013 as an Assistant Scientist.
